I have been using the Vibeplate now for several months and absolutely love it! I use it most days (or every second day at least) and primarily I practice traditional Chinese chi gong on the plate. The other thing I use it for is The Five Tibetan Rites as I find the platform I have is just large enough for me do this style of thing on as well as some Pilates type stuff. Herein lies the great advantage of the Vibeplate over any other product on the market - it is actually large enough to lie on and perform wider stance squats etc. These things are deceptively powerful and I was guilty of over doing it a bit in the first few weeks - I have found that 10 to 20 mins on 30-40hz is usually plenty and it supercharges even exercise like chi gong which is so gentle. My wife, funnily enough, has been doing about 20 minutes most days on the plate with a hula hoop and doing high energy dance style stuff that she loves and I can tell you it has been awesome for her and she really enjoys it 🙂 My joints are better and my body just feels more solid all over and the tonifying effects are brilliant, I don’t think there is any better way to stimulate lymphatic circulation, in short we love our Vibeplate!!!
I purchased a Yoga Plate earlier this year after researching the limited options available for a quality vibration machine here in Australia. The Vibeplate is unique in its platform size and massive weight capacity (1088 kgs) and generous warrantee period. I've been using it on and off as part of a routine to remain flexible and mobile and like many things, life got busy and I stopped using the Yoga Plate as regularly as I once did. Fast forward and a month ago I injured my lower back at work while shifting offices. It aggravated a long standing injury which I sustained from a motor bike injury in my youth.
After a couple of weeks of misery, I caved in and attended a chiropractor who gave me a one page sheet of exercises and after some manipulation said I would have to self-manage any ongoing symptoms. The almost constant discomfort was definitely affecting my mood and work productivity. So ... ding ... finally common sense prevailed and I thought why not use the Yoga Plate? After three evening 15-20 minute sessions of stretching on the Vibeplate, I'm virtually back to normal and cannot believe the difference. 3 weeks of ongoing pain resolved by 3 sessions on the Vibeplate! I'm now a convert and am now convinced about the benefits of using the Vibeplate.
I am nudging 60 and head to Torstein, the personal trainer, 3 days a week. I asked him to ensure no parts of the body atrophy from lack of use and that I am knackered when I leave. He does a great job but I suffer from delayed onset muscle soreness just about every day of the week. Years previously I ran a lot and used a vibrating machine to stretch the calves which worked instantly to relieve the pain. I therefore went looking for a device to allow me to stretch all parts of the body under vibration and bought a VibeStretch.
I use it 5 days a week and it makes an enormous difference to the DOMS. Not only that but I previously had the flexibility of a brick. With the regular use of the VibeStretch I can now not only touch my toes but curl my fingers under them – a long way from being able to just get my hands below my knees.
I definitely recommend everyone give the VibeStretch a trial for both management of DOMS and increased flexibility – particularly for those of us getting on in years.
